To rug or not to rug... it shouldn't be a question! Rug it and rug it good! There are so many reasons why you need a good rug in your life - they tie a room together, enhance your decor, give you warmth and comfort and act as artwork for your floors! ⁠

Where I come from, rugs adorned not only the floors but also walls. Honestly, it was a bit OTT, and it may have scarred a few sensitive souls for life. Rugs were there for decoration but also a manifestation of wealth and status. Every winter the rugs were dragged outside into the snow and beaten up with a special "paddle" to clean them. They were intricate and multicoloured with an occasional swan or bear or some other really kitsch motif in primary colours. It took me some time to fully appreciate the rugs again, but there are some absolute beauties out there that are worth every cent!⁠
